P-tau-181 Test Kit (Dry Fluorescence Immunoassay)
Intended Use
For the in vitro quantification of human phosphorylated tau-181 protein in human serum. Alzheimer's disease (AD), also known as senile dementia, is a common degenerative disease of the central nervous system, caused mainly by neuronal tangles (NFT) due to hyperphosphorylation of tau protein in the brain and by the deposition of large amounts of β-amyloid in the brain, resulting in abnormal neuronal function. As the disease worsens, the pathological changes in NFT are dominated by hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, and therefore the serum concentration of human phosphorylated tau-181 protein (P-tau-181) is significantly increased in patients with mid- to late-stage AD. Commonly used clinical and laboratory methods to detect P-tau-181 include chemiluminescence, immunochromatography and enzyme-linked immunoassay
